Colored braces bands, brackets and elastics: what changes color?
In this preview, braces colors means the small elastic ligatures around metal brackets. The brackets and archwire stay silver. A connected power chain and removable bite elastics are different parts, so ask your orthodontist which color choices apply to your appliance.

Four terms that are easy to mix up
The AAO glossary distinguishes the pieces of a fixed orthodontic appliance. Brackets attach to teeth, an archwire connects them, and ligatures hold the wire in the bracket slots. A power chain is a linked series of elastic rings. Our illustration shows individual colored ties, not a connected chain.

Are the colored ties the same as removable rubber bands?
Not necessarily. The AAO explains that prescribed removable elastics attach at selected points to help move teeth or align the bite. Their placement and wear schedule are chosen for treatment. Do not change that pattern to match a color idea from a preview.

Metal, ceramic and self-ligating braces
Bracket material and elastic color are separate choices. White or clear-looking ceramic brackets are different from white ties on metal brackets. Some appliances hold the wire using another mechanism rather than the individual ties shown here. Ask which options apply to your braces before planning a specific color pattern.

What bracescolors changes in its preview
The live example applies color to small illustrated rings around the brackets while keeping the base smile, metal hardware and teeth in place. Two-color mode alternates between the rings. This helps you compare the direction of a color choice without pretending to select a medical appliance.
The AI photo tool generates a separate image from your uploaded photo and chosen colors. It can be useful for personal inspiration, but generated hardware or tooth details can be imperfect. It does not predict how treatment will change your smile or identify which braces system you need.

Does choosing a color change the metal braces?
In our live picker, only the illustrated elastic ties change color. Bracket material and appliance type are separate treatment decisions to discuss with your orthodontist.
