Braces color combinations: two colors, more possibilities
For two-color braces, start with neighboring shades such as blue and teal, or add contrast with a light-dark pair such as pink and navy. Our examples alternate colors across brackets. Save the pair you like and ask your orthodontist which placement patterns they offer.

Three ways to build a pair
Keep one favorite color fixed and change its partner. Blue with teal stays within a similar color family; blue with red creates a more distinct split. You can also use silver as a neutral companion when you like a strong color but do not want every tie in that shade.
- For a softer pair: try lilac and pink.
- For neighboring colors: compare blue and teal.
- For light-dark contrast: try pink and navy.
- For a neutral accent: compare navy and silver.
Alternating colors, top and bottom, or a power chain?
The examples below alternate the first and second color bracket by bracket. Swapping the two changes which color starts the pattern. An upper-and-lower split is a different arrangement and is not what these previews show.
If your treatment uses a connected power chain, the placement options may differ from individual ties. Describe the colors you want and let the orthodontist choose an appropriate material and arrangement. The glossary guide explains the difference between these parts.
Seasonal and holiday braces colors
You can use a date or event as a starting point without committing your whole look to a theme. Our seasonal recipes include orange and near-black for Halloween, red and green for Christmas, and blue and silver for a cool winter pair. These are editorial ideas, not claims about trending or most-purchased shades.
Think beyond the event itself. If you would not enjoy the pair during the following weeks, choose a favorite everyday shade and make the second color the seasonal accent. Your orthodontist decides the appointment timing, so plan around the visits you already have.
School colors, team colors and special occasions
Choose the two strongest colors in your school or team palette, then compare their brightness. If both feel too strong, try a darker version of one. A custom color can help describe your idea on screen, even when the clinic's selection is more limited.
For a wedding, graduation or school photograph, compare your pair at normal photo size against your outfit. Save a simple one-color backup as well. You do not need an exact clothing match for the combination to feel coordinated.

Can I get two colors on my braces?
Many looks use more than one elastic color, but your clinic's materials and your treatment determine what is possible. Our picker illustrates an alternating two-color pattern; ask your orthodontist before expecting a particular placement.
Does an AI preview of two colors use more points?
No. On bracescolors, the same per-image rate applies to single-color, two-color and custom-color AI previews. The live picker does not spend points. See Pricing for the current image rate and packs.
